District buildings recycle #1 through #7 plastic, cans, bottles, cardboard, and white and colored paper. The Custodial Services department provides blue recycling containers for each classroom or office space. Can and bottle recycling containers are available for purchase and are available through Stores Inventory. Students participate at each building, placing white and colored paper in large rolling bins; cardboard is broken down and placed in outside containers; and plastic, cans, and bottles are placed in City of Columbia rolling containers appropriately marked.

 

Each building should have recycling efforts within the building for batteries, toner and ink cartridges, and other items. If a district building does not have certain processes in place, batteries and ink and toner cartridges can be returned to Facilities and Construction Services for proper recycling.
